RecKids Supported Learning Spaces
Please note: there is only one survey. You can find the survey here.
It is being distributed by multiple channels, but each family should only complete it once.
A safe space for remote learning. Breakfast and lunch provided. Daily schedule to include remote learning support time, physical activity, recess, group games, arts and crafts, and more. Students will be supervised by at least one recreation and/or school district staff in groups of up to 12 kids. Students will need to walk, ride their bike, or get a ride to and from the program each day.
All EWSD K-8 students may attend on the days they do not have in-person instruction. Children in grades K-8 of EWSD, Village of Essex Junction, and Town of Essex employees are eligible as well.
The program will operate 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Families can sign up for one, two, or three days a week of participation.
Actual locations are being determined based on the request for registrations received. Once needs are clear, we will secure community spaces and confirm placements with families.
Village: Maple Street Park, Holy Family Community Center, Essex Teen Center
Town outside the Village: Essex Cinemas, St. Pius Church, Memorial Hall
Westford: White Church on the Common
There is no cost to attend the 7:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. program. For students in grades K-5, there is an option to sign-up for after school care for a fee, which will be provided at the same location where your child is during the day or they will walk or be bused to the aftercare site.
